From Airport to Kyoto Station: 75 minutes taking Kansai-Airport Express ‘HARUKA’ from Kansai International Airport (KIX) to Kyoto Station.From Kyoto Station to ICC Kyoto: 20 minutes taking the KarasumaSubway Line from ‘Kyoto’ to ‘Kokusaikaikan’ station. When you arrive at Kokusaikaikan, please exit the ticket gate and walk through the underground passage to Exit 4-2. ICC Kyoto is 5-minute’s walk from the station.
Trains: There are many trains running through the city of Kyoto, such as the Kyoto City Subway, JR line, Hankyu Railway and Keihan Railway.
The Kyoto City Subway is composed of 2 lines (the Karasuma Line running north-south and the Tozai Line running east-west). Nearest station to the conference venue is Kokusaikaikan on the Karasuma Line. Tickets must be purchased in advance at Subway station. The fare for children is a half price.
If you travel in groups of a few people, taxis can also be an economical option for shorter rides. There are many taxis operating in the city, and they can be used without reservation. A plate in the lower corner of the windshield indicates whether a taxi is vacant or not. Usually, a red plate indicates that the taxi is ‘vacant’, while a green plate indicates ‘occupied’. Tipping taxi drivers is unnecessary in Japan.
