謹啓　時下ますますご隆盛のこととお慶び申し上げます。

平素は本学会に格別のご理解とご協力を賜り厚く御礼申し上げます。

この度、第71回国際外科学会日本部会総会の会長を仰せつかり、藤田医科大学医学部総合消化器外科が事務を担当し、事務局員一同、鋭意準備を進めております。

国際外科学会(International College of Surgeons)は、一般外科、消化器外科、胸部外科、心臓血管外科、産婦人科、泌尿器科、脳神経外科、整形外科、形成外科、小児外科、口腔外科、耳鼻咽喉科、眼科、麻酔科等「すべてメスを持つ者の会」で、1935年に故Dr Max Thorekにより、世界中の外科医を結びつけ、お互いに理解、協力し、外科の技術と理論を平和的に発展させる力を形成する目的で設立されました。日本部会総会は、これから世界に羽ばたいてほしい若手日本人外科医の英語プレゼンテーションスキルの向上をミッションとして、1954年から年に1回開催を重ねてきました。司会、発表、討議を英語で行うのはもちろんのこと、演題ごとにEnglish Commentatorから総評がフィードバックされるのが本学術集会の特長です。本邦では、近年の深刻な外科医不足の中、｢医師の働き方改革｣が施行され、学術活動は｢自己研鑽｣の範疇に押し込められ、“尻すぼみ”が懸念されます。一方、外科医療にもゲノム医療、再生医療、ロボット、AI、情報通信など高度なテクノロジーが急速に浸透し、その理解と活用にはこれまでにも増して能動的学修と職種や国を越えた協力が必要です。この学術集会が参加者一人ひとりにとって、国際的な視野を広げ、世界の医療の最前線を意識するきっかけとなること、そして、本会で得た知識や経験が、キャリアにおいて次なるステージへの後押しとなり、さらなる成長と発展につながることを心より願っています。

Hello everyone!

My name is Koichi Suda from Fujita Health University. I am pleased to announce that I will be hosting the 71st Annual Congress of the International College of Surgeons Japan Section at the Aichi Industry & Labor Center (WINC AICHI) on June 6th, 2026.

The International College of Surgeons Japan Section has served as a gateway for surgeons aspiring to make their mark on the international stage. Each year, the oral sessions feature detailed evaluations and feedback from English-speaking commentators. This year, we are honored to invite three distinguished expert surgeons—Prof. Jimmy So (National University of Singapore), Dr. Wayne Huang (IRCAD-Taiwan), and Dr. Hon-Chi Yip (Chinese University of Hong Kong)—who will share their experiences of succeeding on the global stage.

Additionally, with the support of IRCAD-Taiwan, Medtronic, and Johnson & Johnson, we have enhanced the hands-on sessions to provide a more comprehensive practical experience.

Our sincere hope is that this conference will broaden your international perspectives, serve as an opportunity to stay at the forefront of global medical advancements, and that the knowledge and experiences gained here will support your careers, fostering further growth and development.
