Welcome Message
President of the 37th Annual Congress of the Japan Association of Endocrine Surgery
Iwao Sugitani
(Graduate School Professor & Chairman, Department of Endocrine Surgery, Nippon Medical School Graduate School of Medicine)
We are pleased to announce that the 37th Annual Congress of the Japan Association of Endocrine Surgery will be held over three days from Thursday, May 22, to Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the Kamakura Prince Hotel in Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
The association was founded in 1988 by my mentor, Prof. Yoshihide Fujimoto. At Nippon Medical School, Prof. Kazuo Shimizu hosted the 23rd Annual Congress of the JAES in 2011. I am deeply honored to host this meeting again after 23 years.
The theme of this conference is “Pursuing the Essence of Endocrine Surgery: Let’s Go to Kamakura!” Inspired by the subtitle of Prof. Fujimoto’s famous book, “Seeking the Essence of Thyroid and Parathyroid Disease Management,” we hope that many experts and aspiring young healthcare professionals will gather in Kamakura with a spirit of inquiry into the essence of endocrine surgery. We look forward to diverse and stimulating discussions. We also plan to invite speakers from abroad to enhance international collaboration and contribute to the development of the association.
Our association is dedicated to providing the best specialized care for patients suffering from neoplastic and functional diseases of endocrine organs. This unique conference brings together surgeons, ENT specialists, urologists, radiologists, nuclear medicine specialists, oncologists, endocrinologists, pathologists, and other healthcare professionals from various foundational fields involved in the management of thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, pancreatic endocrine, and breast diseases. We are preparing diligently to make this conference attractive and meaningful, especially for young healthcare professionals. We hope to receive many submissions and look forward to welcoming you to Kamakura.
Kamakura is known as an ancient city and is home to many historical structures surrounded by lush nature, such as Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, the Great Buddha of Kamakura, and so on. The conference venue is near the Shichirigahama Station on the Enoden Line, offering refreshing sea breezes and warm sunlight from the beautiful coastline. We believe that a relaxed and lively discussion will inspire new thoughts about the future of endocrine surgery. Kamakura is also rich in food culture, allowing attendees to enjoy local cuisine and deepen interactions during the conference.
In closing, we kindly ask for your continued guidance and support.
Best regards,
