Access to ICC Kyoto

From Airport to Kyoto Station: 75 minutes taking Kansai-Airport Express ‘HARUKA’ from Kansai International Airport (KIX) to Kyoto Station.

From Kyoto Station to ICC Kyoto: 20 minutes taking the Karasuma Subway Line from ‘Kyoto’ to ‘Kokusaikaikan’ station. When you arrive at Kokusaikaikan, please exit the ticket gate and walk through the underground passage to Exit 4-2. ICC Kyoto is 5-minute’s walk from the station.

WIFI Access

Free WiFi is available in the conference center.
An authentication security key will be provided.

WFITN MEMBERSHIP

The information desk of WFITN’s Secretariat will be available throughout the Congress to provide information about WFITN, membership, new applications, INR journal, payment of membership fee (etc.)

PC DATA CENTER

The speaker ready room is located on the 1st floor in front of the Event Hall.
All presentations must be uploaded at least two hours prior to your session to load your slide files. The presentation using personal laptops will not be allowed during the sessions. Audiovisual technicians will be at your service to assist with uploading your presentation.

CURRENCY, EXCHANGE, CREDIT CARDS

Japanese Currency: The yen is the unit of currency in Japan.
There are four kinds of bills (10,000 yen, 5,000 yen, 20,000 yen, and 1,000 yen) and six kinds of coins (500 yen, 100 yen, 50 yen, 10 yen, 5 yen, and 1yen).

Credit Cards:

Credit cards and debit cards are accepted in most places in Japanese cities. However, Japan is a cash society. There are many places such as small shops, local restaurant or market, still operate on a cash-only basis.

Currency Exchange:

You can exchange your money at authorized banks, and the ATMs at post offices or convenient stores such as 7-Eleven, FamilyMart or Lawson across the country. These ATMs allow you to withdraw cash by credit and debit cards.

* Currency Exchange machine is available for EUR, USD, GBP, AUD, HKD to Japanese yen at Business Center on the 1st Floor.

INSURANCE

The Organizing Committee cannot take any responsibility for injuries or losses occurring to persons or personal belongings during the Conference.

PARKING

Parking: There are parking spots for approximately 200 vehicles available at ICC Kyoto.
The fee for standard-sized cars: 1,000 yen per day (one-time only).
No reservation is required.

TAXIS

If you travel in groups of a few people, taxis can also be an economical option for shorter rides. There are many taxis operating in the city, and they can be used without reservation.
A plate in the lower corner of the windshield indicates whether a taxi is vacant or not. Usually, a red plate indicates that the taxi is ‘vacant’, while a green plate indicates ‘occupied’.
Tipping taxi drivers is unnecessary in Japan.

TIPPING

Tipping is not customary in Japan, at restaurants and hotels.

ELECTRICITY SUPPLY

The voltage in Japan is 100 volts which is different from North America (120V), Europe and the rest of the would (220-240V).
